Environmental Groups Will Sue EPA for Alleged Failure to Promulgate Standards for Oil and Gas Production; Impact of the 'EPA's Foot Dragging Is Staggering'

Claiming the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) "failed to protect the clean air in the Rocky Mountains" from the pollution that comes from oil and gas drilling, several environmental groups announced earlier this month their intention to sue the agency under provisions of the Clean Air Act (CAA). Led by a group called Rocky Mountain Clean Air Action, Earthjustice will submit the lawsuit on behalf of the Environmental Integrity Project, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Oil and Gas Accountability Project, Earthworks, the Powder River Basin Resource Council, and the San Juan Citizens Alliance.
