Fox valley aims to grow with new mechanical press

Fox Valley Forge's website will need an overhaul soon. It touts the fact that for over 50 years the company has specialized in upset forging. "We have the expertise and flexibility to provide alloy, carbon, or stainless steel upset forgings in large or small production runs," the website reports. It will be updated in the future to include information on the company's new process. The company produces pinions, gears, flanged axles, CV spindles, eccentric shafts, and other components of similar shape and size. Its target markets include agricultural machinery, heavy truck, mechanical power, ordnance, automotive, material handling, mining, and oil field equipment, among others. To serve these markets, Fox Valley employs eleven upset forging machines in its plant in Aurora, IL, about 30 miles due west of Chicago. Its manufacturing area covers 76,000 sq ft, 10,000 of which, is a fully equipped die shop. A new 12,000 sq-ft secondary machining and warehouse building was opened in 1999. In addition to forging and machining, the company also offers in-house die design, heat-treating, saw cutting, bar coding, blast cleaning, and packaging.
