We are delighted to see that the issue of barefoot hoof care is becoming more widely discussed within the field of equestrianism. Although some owners are perhaps considering this option due to sometimes ill-conceived ideas about 'removing shoes to save money', nonetheless, more people are maintaining their horses' feet without shoes than five years ago.As distributors of barefoot boots, we work with many farriers and barefoot trimmers, and have no affiliation with a particular ethos or practise, in terms of how to manage a barefoot hoof. We believe that, providing good foot balance, targeted nutrition and horse care are in place, there are many hoofcare professionals fully capable of maintaining a horse's feet - although we do acknowledge that opinions always differ! Fortunately, this usually makes for lively discussion on a subject that we are passionate about.
