The future of housing isn't just green, it's healthier and more cost-effective, too. That's what a Habitat for Humanity chapter in Alabama discovered after installing high grade, environmentally friendly HVAC air filters in its three most recently completed houses in Athens-Limestone County. The homes were each awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification - verification that the buildings were designed to deliver energy savings, water efficiency, and reductions in waste and carbon dioxide emissions. They're among just 14,000 projects in the U.S. and 30 countries to achieve such designation.
