Combining central FEEDING AND HOPPERS: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS FOR HATCHERIES

The sheer amount of tanks in most hatcheries necessitates the use of hoppers to effectively feed the fish. The hoppers operate one by one and are not limited by the 'blower capability' of a central feeding system, which can mean long intervals betweeneach dose.The drawback, however, is the limited information one can collect from the stand-alone hoppers, and the tedious chore of constantly lugging 25kg feed bags around to make sure the hoppers are not running out. Ocea has decided to do something about this and has for the last year been developing Ocea Hopper Control. Rolf Hatlevik, project manager at Ocea, has been tinkering with the idea for quite some time and decided it was what was missing from the Ocea FeedStation.
