New' king of the forest' rules over Eildrig's Sitka

Visitors to the Valmets Komatsu Forest event took the narrow, winding B711 west out of the Scottish Borders town of Hawick and at the village of Roberton took a rural byway which turns up the Borthwick Water leading nowhere: except to the ForestryCommission's Craik Forest. While it was not the most well-known of southern Scotland's vast conifer plantations, it was probably as representative of current British timber production as couid be found.
