Results from Kise research station in Norway on antioxidant contents of different herbs grown at Kise are presented. The highest contents were found in oregano (137.5 mmol/100 g dry matter), sage (91.2), peppermint (78.5), thyme (74.6), lemon balm (74.6) and marjoram (55.8). Results were compared to retail samples of dried herbs and confirmed the findings. Because of the dried nature of many herbs, the contents are a lot higher then those found in fruits (e.g. cherries). Therefore herbs can contribute to a healthy diet..
