NPD recoups northern survey costs with data sales

Seven oil companies have purchased the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate's seismic data package from the potential-ly prospective Lofoten and Vesteralen areas off northern Norway, and several more have indicated their interest. The seven oil companies that have purchased the seismic data package costing NOK 43.2 million (plus VAT) are Statoil, ExxonMobil, Norske Shell, RWE Dea Norge, GDF Suez, Dong Energy, and Det norske oljeselskap.
