摘要

Research into interactions between dietary flavonoids and nuclear receptors are reviewed, with particular reference to their impact on occurrence of metabolic diseases. Aspects considered include: types of nuclear receptors; nuclear receptors and pharmaceutical targets (oestrogen receptor, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor, farnesoid X receptor, liver X receptor, pregnane X receptor, hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha); flavonoids as dietary nuclear receptor regulators (flavanones, flavones, flavanols, flavonols, isoflavones, anthocyanins); other herbal substances; and flavonoid bioavailability and delivery (flavonoid-dextran complexes, amorphous solid dispersion).
