Jiffy lauches CarbonLite pot

According to Roelof Drost JifFy considers itself as being green, from the day on which it started the production of biodegradable and fully compostable plant containers. "Jiffy is aware that it has responsibilities to the environment and therefore tries to lessen carbon footprint in the field of production, packaging, as well as company car policy. Furthermore, we are a member of'responsible' harvesting of raw materials." In terms of sustainability the company has redirected its focus and evolved from a mere producer of peat products to a more diversified company actively exploring other sustainable materials to include in its product line. One good example would be the Jiffy production facility in Sri Lanka, which produces coir pellets, JifFy growblocks and growbags. The CarbonLite product range is another example. "Also, the way of doing business itself, the responsible management of peat bogs and the product development complying with organic requirements (OMRI etc) is a proof of Jiffy's commitment to the environment", says Drost.
