Rhodia buys China's Feixiang Chemicals, forms partnership with University of Bordeaux

Rhodia SA is acquiring the Chinese fatty amine and surfactant specialist Feixiang Chemicals at a price which values the firm at $489 M (?397.3 M) for 100% of capital. This is almost nine times the firm's expected EBITDA for 2010. The current, undisclosed major shareholder will retain 12.5% of the capital for 2 years. The transaction is expected to be completed in 2H 2010, pending regulatory approval.
