BASF Invests in QD Vision's quantum dot technology for purer colours

BASF has agreed to inject $4M to help fund the development of applied technology in quantum dots by QD Vision Inc (of Lexington, MA). Quantum dots are a class of nanomaterials with unique electro-optical properties and a wide range of applications in display, lighting, photovoltaic cells, sensors, and diagnostics. QD Vision has already developed various components based on quantum dot technology that enable a significantly improved colour gamut of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) at minimal incremental cost.
