Acron net profit Jan-Sept surges

RUSSIAN FERTILIZER group Acron announced that net profit in the first nine months of 2008 surged 230% on the same period of 2007, to RUB10.55bn ($382m). The result, which came despite the summer collapse in world fertilizer prices, means the company could be heading for a record 2008 annual profit of RUB14bn.
