North America: Mosaic sees fall in Q1 potash sales volumes

Mosaic reported a 35% increase in Q1 net earnings to $295 million compared with the same period a year earlier amid higher potash and phosphate prices and reduced operating costs. The company said that net sales in its potash segment fell 11% to $653 million as an increase in average selling prices to $288/mt from $267/mt a year ago was offset by a reduction in sales volumes to 2.0 million mt from 2.4 million mt.
