More than 300 deaths per year occur because of electrical incidents, according ro the Occupational Satety and Health Administration (OSHA/www.o.sha.gov). 2. Electriealincidents are the fifthleading cause ol death in the workplace, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH/www. cdc.goviosh. html). 3. More than one-half" of those workplace deaths involve a common 120-volt electricalsystem contact. Lives are lost because protective equipment is not used and/or safety guidelines arc not followed.
