The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) has urged the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to do what it can to urge commodity exchanges to pause trading for an hour, while major commodity reports can be digested. While acknowledging that implementing and enforcing such a pause likely is beyond the control of USDA, NGFA said it believes the USDA still has a "clear interest in helping create an environment in which its major statistical reports do not roil markets to the extent that producersand agribusiness firms reliant upon them are disadvantaged or competitively harmed."
