摘要

The performance of protein pharmaceu-ticals and biocatalysts depends to a large extent on the stability of the protein. Among other factors, heat can lead to fast denaturation of proteins resulting in the loss of activity. Usually rational approaches to improve the stability of proteins focus on the native state. However, the balance between the unfolded and the folded state energetics play an important role for stabilization.
