STOPPING the leafroll virus: Grapevine leafroll disease threatens the sustainability of Washington vineyards

Washington State University's Dr. Naidu Rayapati is on a mission: to educate the state's grape growers about grapevine leafroll disease and contain its spread. Rayapati is part of a WSU Extension issue-focused team that has spent several years workingon prevention, diagnosis, assessment, and management of the disease. He's put together an extension bulletin containing research and recommendations regarding leafroll disease and has information on the Web to help share his gospel. And, he takes advantage of industry meetings to urge use of clean planting material.
