Sinopec's Lianyungang Complex Estimated at US$15.5 Billion

Estimated capital expenditures for a massive new refining and petrochemicals complex being developed by Sinopec at Lianyungang in the Jiangsu province is pegged at US$15.5 billion, according to a June 18 report by China Daily. As reported in the June 16 issue of Hart Energy's Refinery Tracker, agreements are still being executed, and permit applications are being submitted for this massive project which will include refining, petrochemicals and storage facilities envisioned by Sinopec.
