Austin Energy to Install 103 Public EV-Recharge Stations

Austin Energy will install 103 plug-in charging stations to form its Plug-In EVerywhere network for electric vehicles, the Texas-based company announced August 3. The installations also successfully fulfill Austin's commitment to the ChargePoint America program that selected Austin as one of only nine metropolitan regions in the country to participate in the federal stimulus grant funded program. More than 40 community partners responded by a July 2011 deadline indicating their interest in hosting the charging stations at their locations for public use.
