Crude Imports to U.S. Continue to Decline - U.S. EIA

The trend of declining crude oil imports into the United States continued in the first month of 2012, according to an April 10 report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). In particular, the analysis revealed a sharp decline in imports from Nigeria because of two East Coast refineries that were idled in late 2011 – significant buyers of Nigerian crude – as well as reduced imports by refiners on the Gulf Coast.
