There are not many things that everyonecan agree on, but here are two of them: Every day the sun gives the earth useableenergy that is more than 1,000 times ourneeds. Global warming caused by greenhouse gasemissions is a threat to life as we know it onearth. There are two take-home messages; the firstis that there is plenty of available energy tosupply the needs and even the fantasies of allthe people in the world. The second is that,with all that energy coming from the sun, ourenergy consumption is not the cause of globalwarming; it is the creation of energy by burningfossil fuels, such as coal and petroleum, thatthreatens the planet.
