摘要

Close-range photogrammetry methodology shows promising characteristics for 3D spatial-data acquisition. Several photogrammetric approaches have already been used in archaeology, but few of them have been dedicated to field archaeology. This article addresses the 3D restitution of an excavation unit. It proposes a new close-range photogrammetry approach for excavation and stratigraphy monitoring which meets archaeological accuracy requirements. Some experiments were first conducted in the laboratory in order to validate the method's accuracy and approach. The method was then tested on the excavation site of the Fort and Chateau St-Louis, Quebec City (Dufferin Terrace), The results are discussed in relation to planimetric and altimetric accuracies of the 3D restitution of the excavation unit.
