The cost of debottlenecking the six LNG mega-trains coming on stream in Qatar will be a “very small fraction” of the costs of a comparable green-field project, according to Thierry Pilenko, chief executive of Technip, one of the two major engineering contractors involved in the Chiyoda-Technip Joint Venture (CTJV) responsible for building the trains.
