Anti-fracking protests in Europe are not confined to the UK. In the last edition of Gas Matters we dealt with the protests in rural south-east England. This month we discuss the prospects for fracking in Germany in the face of wider protests against the use of this (not so) new technology, and conclude that there does not seem to be sufficient political momentum to suggest that fracking activities will gain approval in the near future.
