Tomato hybrids for different production trends II 'Naslada' F — an indeterminate hybrid for middle-early field production

Data concerning the development and a comparative ex-amination (conducted within three years in two experimental bases) for the economically most important characteristics of the hybrid Naslada are presented. The hybrid is characterized through plant and fruit traits. Naslada was developed through the heterosis method of plant breeding crossing the indeterminate line OID-98 / maternal line) and the determi-nate line VIT-98 (paternal line). The hybrid is of indeterminate habitus and is suitable for middle-early cultivation in the field. It exceeds the standard cultivar Kristy in total yield, fruit size and taste. Its fruits are less firm and of shorter shelf-life than those of the standard cultivar Opal bg, however it is superior in fruit size and flavor. The fruits are suitable to be used fresh due to the traditional Bulgarian flavor.
