FMCSR 396.11 - don't leave home without it. This law requires that the carrier perform an inspection once daily at the completion of each days' work on each vehicle operated. Specifically, 396.11 requires a minimum of 10 items (motorcoach) to be inspected prior to the vehicle leaving the carrier site. Most carriers require their drivers to exceed this list with additional items. Whatever the case may be, an inspection must take place prior to departure, and a written report must be completed.
