Comparative evaluation of outcomes of endoscopic versus percutaneous drainage for symptomatic pancreatic pseudocysts

The study by Akshintala et al comparing the clinical outcomes of endoscopic drainage (ED) and percutaneous drainage (PD) for symptomatic pseudocysts concludes that both methods have similar clinical success rates, yet considers ED more apt for pseudocysts lying within 1 cm of the gastric or duodenal wall because of fewer reinterven-tions, less abdominal imaging, and shorter hospital stay.
