Position and Time: Classical vs. SRT

Newcomers to Special Relativity Theory (SRT) are often bewildered by its predictions and consequences. One reason for this bewilderment is that, as used in modern physics, terms like time and position have meanings different from the classical meanings. In this text, we work to clarify these notions in order to promote an accurate understanding of SRT.
