Det norske oljeselskap has hit hydrocarbons in its Stirby Deep exploration well, which is being drilled in PL 341 offshore Norway. Det norske said it has "found indications" of gas in the Stirby Deep prospect in the Viking Graben, some 75km north of Sleipner and 25km north of Gudrun. The 24/12-6 S2 well data indicates gas/gas condensate under high pressure in a 70m (230ft) thick sandstone with low porosity at 4,870m (15,978ft) below the seabed.
