Trio to develop leaner meaner separation unit

StatoilHydro,Chevron and Petrobras are to jointly develop a new compact subsea separation plant that is both smaller and lighter than existing solutions - allowing them to operate in deeper waters.The CompactSep research project will be managed and undertaken by StatoilHydro as a joint industry project,with the three players as equal partners.The alliance is based on the existing technology co-operation agreement that the three recently signed.The project has a cost limit of US 10.7m and will run until 2011.
