UP moving AP unit to Wales

Following its Sept 2002 purchase of AP Elastomers, United Polymers has decided to close the unit's Birmimgham, UK, plant, and move production to UP's site in Maerdy, South Wales. The move is needed to keep the AP Elastomers business profitable, commented Rod Lister, UP's chief executive.
