Crassula helmsii (Australian swamp stonecrop or New Zealand Pygmyweed) is an invasive plant which represents a risk to aquatic environments in Belgium, and more globally in Europe. Land managers have access to what appears to be an abundant literature resource on this species and also several databases on its spatial distribution. However, those attempting to manage C. helmsii may rapidly feel disarmed, due to on the one hand a lack of clarity on the means required to curb the propagation of this species, and on the other hand by the lack of completeness of the databases. In addition, there is inadequate literature on the means of dissemination of this species through the environment.
