Based upon their intimate knowledge of then-target audience including names, addresses, incomes, shopping behaviour, hobbies, family circumstances, financial exposure and heakh, it could be said that retailers have more political power than politicians themselves. Also recent developments in Cyprus, where there has been an imposition of capital export restrictions and use of depositors' savings as sources of bailout funds, have heightened the need for C&T Key Account Managers to be aware of the impact of politics on the savvy consumer, and the consequent pressure on C&T companies as the consumer demands more demonstrable value for money in product and brand propositions.
