Embolic myocardial infarction in atrial fibrillation: multiple territory injury revealed by cardiac magnetic resonance.

A 58-year-old man, with no risk factors and negative past medical history, presented to the emergency department with recent history of palpitation and 2 h ongoing chest pain. The electrocardiogram demonstrated lateral ST elevation, then atrial fibrillation with resolving ST-segment elevation with T wave inversion developing. His tro-ponin level was 1.6 |xg/L (normal range 0-1.0 n-g/L). Coronary angiography demonstrated a normal right coronary artery, only distal occlusion of the left anterior descending (LAD) artery and also of the distal obtuse marginal (Panels A and 8, arrows).
