In general the demand for better low temperature performance of lubricants is increasing. To meet this demand new base oil types are available with improved cold temperature performance. In combination with the new generation of Pour Point Depressant (PPD) additives these base oils allow high performance lubricants with excellent cold temperature performance - seen in crank case oils (5W-XX / 0W-XX) as well as in drive line oils (Gear, ATF,MTF).
