In 2003,we celebrate the 140th anniversary of the birth of Vasilii Robertovich Williams.Academician Williams was one of the most controversial figures in the soil science of the 20th century.He was the creator of one of the best schools of pedology,generator of new pedological concepts,and enthusiastic scientific administrator.
