South Stream gas pipeline: European endpoint in Austria

OAO Gazprom and OMV have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the Austrian section of the South Stream gas pipeline. The Memorandum sets forth the intentions of the parties to implement the project of construction of the Austrian section of the South Stream gas pipeline with the capacity of up to 32 billion m~3/a and its end point in Baumgarten. All the permits necessary for the construction are planned to be obtained by the end of 2015, first gas deliveries are expected in 2017 and full commissioning of the Austrian section of the gas pipeline is scheduled by January 2018.
