Study was carried out during rabi season in the year 2011 -12 and 2012-13 to study the effect of fertilizers management on vegetative growth of marigold. The treatments were comprised of four levels of nitrogen i.e. 0,60,120 and 180 kg/ha and three levels of phosphorus i.e. 0, 60 and 120 kg/ha. The treatments were replicated thrice in a factorial randomized block design. Maximum plant height was recorded with the application of 180 kg N/ha and 120 kg P/ha followed by 120 kg N/ha and 60 kg P/ha. However, plant heights for the both levels were found statistically at par. Plant spread increased significantly with increase in the levels of nitrogen and phosphorus. Maximum plant spread was recorded with application of 180 kg N/ha followed by 120 kg N/hawhile, the lowest plant spread (cnr) was recorded in the treat-ment where no fertilizers were given (N(|P|(). Number of primary' branches in marigold at harvesting stage increased significantly with increasing the levels of nitrogen. Maximum number of primary branches/plant was recorded with the application of 180 kg N/ha and 120 kg P/ha. The minimum number of primary branches was noticed in the treatment where no fertilizers were given (N0P(1).
