Pot studies were carried out to assess the efficacy and residual concentrations of isoproturon applied at 0.94 and 1.88 kg/hectare to soil collected from different locations of Punjab state. Data revealed that application of isoproturon at 0.94 and 1.88kg/hectare significantly reduced the population and dry matter accumulation of Phalaris minor per pot as compared to control (untreated) pots. Growth and development of Phalaris was significantly higher in Badrukha (districi Sangrur) and Kum Khurd (district Ludhiana) soils as compared to P.minor growing on PAU soil. At recommended level (0.94kg/hectare) isoproturon got degraded to non-detectable limits within 60 days of its application in PAU farm soil whereas 75 days were needed to reach at non-detectable levels in Badrukha, Kum Kalan and Chakkar soils.
