摘要

The frontline demonstration (FLD) on pigeonpea production technologies was carried out during kharif 2011-12 at KVK, Tukkanahatti, Karnataka. Pigeonpea is a major crop of the area, however the crop productivity is very low due to non adoption of improved technologies. To convince benefit of improved technologies released by agricultural universities, frontline demonstrations were conducted in 25 farmer's field with local check. The improved technologies consisting of use of modern variety (TS-3R), seed treatment with Rhizobium, PSB and Trichoderma, balanced nutrient application and integrated pest management. The average pigeonpea yield in FLD plot was 49.96 per cent higher than the yield in farmer practice which resulted on higher economic returns of Rs 27965 per ha.
