The Galerucinae with sound production devices (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)

In chrysomelid beetles of the Galerucinae (excluding Alticinae), there are secondary sexual characteristics involved in the production of stridulation sound. The stridulatory devices are represented in many parts of the body, including the antennae, pronotum, scutellum, elytra, and legs. The occurrence of the stridulatory devices on leg is the first in the Chrysomelidae. The occurrence of the stridulatory device in the antennae is a novel in insect.
