摘要

A noninvasive infrared laser beam that is transmitted through the offgas above the furnace lip and below the exhaust hood is being developed to provide a measure of dynamic gas composition and temperature. The technique is being evaluated foroptimizing variables such as lance height, oxygen flow, post-combustion control and prediction of final melt carbon content. Full-scale testing is in progress.
