Excellent slab caster startup at Baotou Steel, P.R. of China

The slab caster supplied by Danieli Davy Distington to Baotou Steel. (Inner Mongolia) was successfully started up on October 13,2007, some days before the scheduled date, processing a full 220-t ladle of SPCG1 low-carbon steel in full automatic mode, producing a slab 1700 mm wide and 250 mm thick at normal casting speed. All key equipment of the caster was designed and supplied by Danieli, with an important manufacturing contribution from Beijing's Danieli Metallurgical Equipment (DME).
