GE Lighting expands its LED product portfolio through new innovative products localised for India

GE Lighting, a division of GE, announced the launch of its LED Roadway product family for the Indian market. This complements GE's recent launches of LED Down lights and LED 2×2 Recessed Troffers for retail and commercial office applications. Speaking about the launch, Mr. Himamshu Prasad, President & CEO, GE Lighting India said, "GE has a proven track record of developing products that are meant to solve world's toughest challenges." In India, the demand for power has been consistently outstripping the supply resulting in frequent power cuts that is adversely affecting the quality of life. Lighting consumes about 20% of all the electricity generated. Using GE's energy efficient LED lighting products is one way by which the load on the power grid can be reduced.
