A recent rapprochement between China and Taiwan is transforming the former foes into deeper trade and investment partners. The change itself is significant, given that China labeled the island as a renegade province 60 years ago. Even more remarkable is the speed with which the two have buried their political differences and pushed forward to sign nine coopera-tion deals, ease investment restrictions and negotiate an economic cooperation framework agreement - all since Taiwan's President Ma Ying-jeou took office a year ago.
