SP AusNet, the amalgamation of TXU Networks (gas and electricity distribution) and SPI PowerNet (electricity transmission) was officially launched on Friday, June 17, by Acting Premier John Thwaites, MP, Minister for the Environment and Victorian Communities and Nino Ficca, CEO SP AusNet. The new organisation is responsible for the delivery of gas and electricity to more than one million customers across metropolitan and regional Victoria. "We're bringing together two industry powerhouses with outstanding environmental and safety records, strong business foundations and passionate, expert people," said Mr Ficca. "We are now twice as big, which enables us to deliver more reliable supply to Victorians and improved service for regional Victoria through upgrades and development," he added.
