Construction starts on Tallawarra Power Station

Australian energy business TRUenergy will fund construction of the 350 million dollars Tallawarra Power Station, due for completion by summer 2008/09. Using efficient, fast start 'combined cycle' generation technology not previously employed in New South Wales, TRUenergy Tallawarra will produce 400MW of electricity, reducing the risk of power shortages at times when demand for electricity rises rapidly. TRUenergy managing director Richard Mclndoe said Tallawarra would generate enough electricity to supply 200,000 homes and businesses across New South Wales and around Australia.
