The introduction of a carbon trading scheme has unfortunately added to the multiple complexities of competing renewable and energy efficiency schemes, feed-in tariffs, rebate schemes and similar policy-driven initiatives across jurisdictions.There is a lot happening for the industry, regulators and consumers to try and sort out, however, we have also seen over the years that introducing structural changes when energy prices are rising will not always have the specified and expected effect.
