Iran eyes stakes in Indian refineries

Iranian oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has reaffirmed Iran’s interest in expanding its foreign refining portfolio, saying the country is looking at opportunities to acquire stakes in Indian refineries. With sanctions on the sale of its oil now lifted, Iran is working to raise its production and exports to win back the market share it lost while it was embargoed. “Iran wants to be present in India’s refining plans in order to secure demand for its crude oil exports,” Zanganeh said after talks with his Indian counterpart Dharmendra Pradhan in Tehran.
